Beyond, a Google Cloud Certified Partner, is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team in Europe, to work closely with our engineering team to architect and develop world class applications.

As a Beyond DevOps Engineer, you’ll have the chance to:

• Actively contribute to the strategy and growth of Beyond’s highly diverse and skilled engineering team
• Build your soft skills in collaboration, communication and client relationship management
• Co-create and collaborate with different team members across the project, program and agency to ensure quality is embedded at both the process and program levels
• Gain knowledge in new business domains by helping build out teams for the purposes of designing, developing and delivering impactful solutions
• Be a subject matter expert in DevOps and Cloud and evangelize and educate the organisation in the DevOps best practices and Cloud architecture
• Help define and improve our processes and best practices in DevOps, Cloud and information technology governance to ensure the services are delivered to meet our high standards

As a Beyond DevOps Engineer, we’d like you to bring:

• 5+ years of working experience in DevOps Engineering and Cloud technologies
• Strong experience with DevOps tools that may include: Git, Jira, GitHub, Bitbucket, GitLab, Ansible, Docker, Terraform, Sentry, New Relic, Sumo Logic, Jira Service Management, Slack
(we do not expect you to have experience with all of the above)
• Strong experience in building and maintaining infrastructure using Google Cloud and AWS
• Strong experience in deploying and operating scalable web applications built using technologies such as Python, Node.js or PHP
• Previous experience in CI/CD pipeline implementation
• Previous experience in release engineering and deployment processes
• Experience with database technologies, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis and Firestore, and the database solutions available on Google Cloud and AWS
• Experience in Linux systems engineering and administration
• Experience in identity and access management on Google Cloud and AWS
• Working knowledge with at least one programming language, such as Python or Javascript
• Familiarity with agile development practices such as code reviews and using source control
• Familiarity with CMS solutions such as Contentful and WordPress
• Familiarity with building websites and apps using Jamstack architecture
• Familiarity with PaaS and serverless technologies such as App Engine, Cloud Run and Cloud Functions
• Grasp of container technology and familiarity with container orchestration with tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Passion for designing and building modern cloud-based applications using a mix of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions
• Strong understanding of security principles and how to apply these to web applications, cloud infrastructure and networking
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as those from NIST, CIS and OWASP
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Strong customer focus with ability to translate technical language to a broader audience
• Sound business judgement, proven ability to influence others and strong analytical thinking skills
• Ability to manage service incidents in production environments
• Ability to support engineers in development environment setup and troubleshooting on macOS and Linux systems
• Ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with many different people
• Ability to document technical solutions in writing or by creating visual architecture diagrams
