We Discover Has Partnered With Trace to Become a Carbon Neutral Workforce

We Discover has partnered with Trace to offset their carbon footprint, becoming their first Australian partner to create a carbon neutral workforce.

Trace, who launched in early 2020, is an environmental sustainability organisation whose goal is to utilise technology to create a greener future. The subscription-based organisation funds projects which deliver measurable benefits aligned with the aims of the Paris Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, primarily focusing on reducing carbon emissions.

Trace’s Co-Founder, Joanna Auburn states:

One of the major problems that organisations are dealing with in their sustainability plans is that employees are disconnected from the process – that’s where Trace comes in. For the price of a coffee a week per employee, Trace can offset every individual’s carbon footprint. Employee onboarding is very simple, no complicated processes or special integration required.

This partnership comes after the establishment of We Discover’s Sustainability and Social Purpose Policy earlier this year. We Discover has begun taking steps to become more environmentally friendly, such as eliminating the use of disposable plastics, becoming a paperless workplace and using LED lighting.

In order to take the next step in their sustainability journey, We Discover has begun supporting organisations that align with these same values. Some of their latest client engagements have been with the Ocean Impact Organisation and the Infrastructure and Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA).

With We Discover investing in a subscription for each team member, Trace will provide regular updates illustrating how they have spent their subscription fees. As a result of We Discover’s membership, this month five trees will be planted on behalf of each team member and 875 kg of CO2 will be offset.

We Discover’s CEO, Scott Forrester said in a statement:

We’ve built a culture at We Discover which is largely focused on respecting our planet and making positive changes to our environment. Partnering with organisations like Trace means a great deal to us as we are now able to monitor the contribution that we are making to create a more sustainable future. We are delighted to be part of such a meaningful cause.
